The Beijing Daily client reporter learned from the Tangshan Port Group that on March 18, 3,096 tons of imported recycled steel raw materials that arrived in the Jingtang Port area from South Korea passed the customs clearance after on-site inspection by the Jingtang Port Customs and laboratory appraisal. This is the first batch of recycled steel raw materials imported by Hebei after the national standard of "Recycled Steel Raw Materials" was officially implemented on January 1, 2021.
It is reported that this batch of cargo was introduced from South Korea by Zhongda Metal Group. The ship berthed at berth #7, Jingtang District, Tangshan Port on March 4, and the unloading was completed on March 5.
With the implementation of the national standard of "Recycled Iron and Steel Raw Materials", Tangshan Port Group is targeting the market, seizing opportunities, relying on the advantages of the hinterland, strengthening contact with import traders, and actively seeking sources of goods to Hong Kong. Tangshan Port Group attaches great importance to this and formulates ship unloading process plans to provide guarantee for the efficient, high-quality, and convenient completion of the entire logistics chain transportation. At the same time, close communication with the customs to understand the relevant procedures and requirements of supervision, inspection, and customs clearance in advance, so as to achieve a seamless connection throughout the process. On the basis of taking good measures to prevent and control the epidemic, ensure that goods are quickly picked up and unloaded and cleared quickly.
At present, the Jingtang Port Area has successfully unloaded 2 ships of imported recycled steel materials, and several ships of imported recycled steel materials are planned to arrive at the port one after another.
According to reports, relying on the advantages of the concentration of iron and steel enterprises in the hinterland of Tangshan and the large demand for scrap, Jingtang Port is actively applying for the Dalian Commodity Exchange's scrap steel futures delivery warehouse to build a distribution and logistics center for recycled steel raw materials in Tangshan Port.
