Brazilian Iron Ore Giant Vale Will Build A Non-blast Furnace Ironmaking Plant With A Scale Of 1 Million Tons!

On November 23, the consortium led by China Metallurgical International and China Metallurgical Jingcheng and the internationally renowned mining giant-Brazil Vale successfully signed the basic design contract of its TECNORED iron smelting plant, marking MCC and Vale in ironmaking Another solid step has been taken in technical cooperation.

As the world's largest iron ore supplier, Vale Brazil plans to build a steel plant with an annual output of 1 million tons in the state of Para in northern Brazil. This project is different from the traditional blast furnace ironmaking process. It can avoid the pollution of the coking and sintering process to the environment and is an environmentally friendly process. After the project is completed, low-grade iron ore powder, tailings, and waste iron-containing oxides will be used as iron-containing raw materials, and cheap ordinary coal or other carbon-containing materials will be used as reducing agents and a heat source will be provided to replace coke. recycle and re-use.

This project will help promote the in-depth cooperation between China Metallurgical Group and Vale Brazil in new ironmaking technology represented by energy saving, environmental protection and high efficiency. It will also become a new project for China Minmetals and Vale in addition to the Caofeidian International Ore Trading Center project. Highlights of cooperation.

Earlier this year, Brazil's Vale, Japan's Kobe Steel, and Japan's Mitsui & Co. planned to establish a joint venture. The joint venture will conduct research and development on low-carbon ironmaking technologies including Tecnored and Midrex, and provide technical solutions to the global steel industry. The three companies will evaluate several existing and new steel manufacturing solutions before signing a final agreement on the establishment of a new joint venture. The new joint venture will leverage Mitsui's advantages in marketing and business development to promote its solutions in the global steel industry.
