According to data from the General Administration of Customs on March 7, my country’s cumulative steel exports from January to February 2021 were 10.140 million tons, an increase of 29.9% year-on-year; my country’s cumulative imports of steel products from January to February were 2.395 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%; cumulative net exports 7.745 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.2%.
From the perspective of steel exports from January to February, China's steel exports have begun to gradually return to the status of 2018 and 2019. In terms of imports, China's demand will drop sharply in 2020 due to the epidemic. Although there has been a year-on-year increase, it is also at a normal level compared with 2019 and 2018. At present, January to February can roughly reflect the order situation from October to December 2020.
