In November 2018, China's steel output was 94.42 million tons, up 11.3% year-on-year; from January to November, steel output was 101.292 million tons, up 8.3% year-on-year. The intuitive signal from this data is that the steel output in the supply end is still only increasing in 2018. In mid-October, the northern winter heating season peak production was proposed and the A, B, C and D steel mills were limited. After the implementation of the plan, the overall strength is still less than last year, and the supply-side output continues to increase.
In December, due to the poor quality of winter air, some regions have recently opened a new round of environmental protection and production restrictions, and the Tangshan area has implemented intensive management and control work. There are also rumors that steel mills have stopped production and maintenance in Xuzhou. Tangshan City issued the "Strength of Control and Control Work Plan for the 20th Day of Decisive Battle and Winning the Battle of the Blue Sky". It is planned to take further tightening measures during the key period from December 13 to 31. It is understood that the Xuzhou Municipal Government should comply with environmental protection requirements, and the three major local steel mills will be shut down to the end of the month, which is expected to affect the average daily output of building materials by 1.7-1.8 million tons. According to the survey data of my steel network in the past week, 11 new blast furnaces were repaired and 10 blast furnaces were rebuilt. Near the end of the year, the blast furnace inspection has increased. The blast furnaces affected by the Expo in Jiangsu Province have been successively restored. Production, but compared with the same period last year, the blast furnace operating rate and capacity utilization rate are still rising. Therefore, it is expected that the steel output in December will continue to increase compared with the same period, which is slower than that of the previous month. The annual steel output increased by 7.7%-8.2% compared with last year.
