The British Government Will Still Support The Sale Of British Steel Companies

The change of the British Prime Minister did not affect the government's assistance to British Steel Companies in solving their financial problems. Andrea leadsom, Britain's new business secretary, said on a visit to the British Steel Company's Scunthorpe plant on July 30 that resolving the steel company's financial problems remains the UK government's top priority. She acknowledged the importance of the British government's involvement in the future of British steel companies and the efforts of government officials to ensure the sustainable development prospects of steel plants, which means that the British government will support the sale of steel plants in the short term.

Andrea leadsom said: "there are some very serious bids at present, and it will take some time for the relevant personnel to conduct due diligence. The government will provide sufficient support and commitment to eliminate the bidder's doubts. "

Ten companies have submitted bids for British steel, local media reported, but declined to comment. Sources have previously pointed out that India JSW, China River Steel Group and unconfirmed companies from Turkey and Ukraine are potential bidders. Liberty steel in the UK and erdemir in Turkey earlier denied interest in buying British steel. Although there was an announcement in early July that liquidators preferred to sell the company as a whole, there were also unconfirmed reports that the company would be split for sale.

At the same time, the high court of Strasbourg in France recently approved the industrial plan of the British Steel Saint saulve (b3s), formerly ascoval steel plant owned by Olympus steel, the parent company of British Steel Company. The plant is also at risk of being sold after the British Steel Company broke in early May.
