Shortly after the container ship PRESIDENT EISENHOWER left Los Angeles for San Francisco, its cabin caught fire and was forced to suspend its sailing.
At present, the crew put out the fire, and there are no reports of pollution, casualties or cargo damage.
As of April 29, the ship was towed by two tugs SHIRLEY C and TERESA BRUSCO at a speed of approximately 4.5 knots towards Los Angeles.
The container ship PEIIDENT EISENHOWER, IMO 9295220, dwt 93558, capacity 7471 TEU, built in 2005, flying the American flag, currently has a draft of 12.9 meters, a total length (LOA) of 300.04 meters, and a width of 42.8 meters.
