Recently, Maersk and MSC jointly announced that the two parties agreed to end the operation of the 2M alliance since its establishment in 2015, and the specific termination time is January 2025. The 2M alliance is a container shipping co-occupancy agreement established by Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company. The original purpose of the agreement was to ensure that the parties to the agreement can conduct competitive and cost-effective operations on the Asia-Europe, trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific routes.
